Catharine

Catharine is living in Paris at the time of the french revolution. She owns a laundry and one of her customers is the yet to be known Napoleon Bonaparte. She finds herself attracted to the young revolutionist and supports the cause. Napoleon disregarded her.

A short time later Catherine fell in love with Sergeant Lefebre. They marry and she follows him to the battlefield as a suffragette.

Years later, with the couple living as duke and duchess of Danzig at the castle Compiegne, Napoleon, now emperor of France, announces his visit.

The meeting is a desaster because even now thougt a duchess Catherine continued to be what she has been: A woman who says what she thinks and knows what she wants.

She is tired of the bloody battles apposes the quick route to power through the ranks.

Alone in the room together Catherine is only interested in peace and Napoleon only interested in her. But Napolen hadn't taken her strong character into account...
